Kate is a fourth-year student at St. Thomas University, pursuing an Honours in Economics and a Major in International Relations, with a goal of working in development economics. She co-founded Spark, a community project supporting youth through financial literacy, food security and business venture assistance that has received provincial and national recognition, has expanded to India and reaches more than 200 community members annually. As Vice President Administration of the St. Thomas Students’ Union, Kate advocates for students’ lived experiences in decision-making and has helped introduce a Student Engagement Bursary to promote inclusion and participation on campus.
