Tanya is a bilingual communications strategist with over 20 years’ experience in the public and non-profit sectors. She helps purpose-driven organizations find their voice, build trust and achieve their goals through strategic communications, policy engagement and storytelling.
Tanya is highly skilled in communications, change management, stakeholder engagement and advocacy. She approaches her work with curiosity, integrity and a clear sense of purpose—always balancing strategy with a deep understanding of how people connect, communicate and make decisions. She’s known for bringing clarity to challenging issues, building strong teams and creating spaces where people feel supported to do their best work.
At CCGoodwin, Tanya draws on extensive leadership experience across government and non-profit organizations. Before joining the firm, she managed communications in New Brunswick’s provincial departments of Social Development and Health—advising ministers, managing issues and media relations, and coordinating province-wide public health awareness campaigns. She previously served as Vice-President of Community Investment, Policy and Advocacy at the Canadian Internet Registration Authority (CIRA), where she led initiatives at the intersection of cybersecurity, digital policy, internet governance and public interest advocacy. She has also held various positions in communications, stakeholder engagement and marketing in non-profits in the academic, technology, professional accreditation and animal welfare sectors.
Tanya holds a Bachelor of Journalism (Combined Honours in Journalism and Political Science) from Carleton University. She also has executive training from Queen’s University and a Certificate in Strategic Communications and Change from the University of Ottawa. Tanya currently serves on the evaluation panel for CIRA’s Net Good Grants, which distributes more than $1 million annually to improve digital access and skills in underserved communities across Canada. Tanya lives in Fredericton, NB.
