Since founding the firm in 2019, we have continuously grown the business and client base within Canada. To support our growth, we’re looking to hire a Senior Consultant, Public Affairs (Bilingual). This is a remote, permanent full-time role based in Moncton, Fredericton or Saint John, New Brunswick. For the right candidate, we are open to other remote work locations in New Brunswick, Nova Scotia or Prince Edward Island. Travel within the Maritimes is required from time to time, in support of client meetings and team events designed to support culture.
Role Summary
We’re on the hunt for a bilingual public affairs practitioner (English and French) who will help manage and deliver client projects, including communications and engagement plans, strategic plans, policy papers, government relations materials and other complex deliverables, working directly with our team, roster of talent and clients. You have a passion for public affairs, you are an exceptional writer in both English and French, and you are resourceful – talents you will bring to bear in all your deliverables. You will help develop fresh, impactful ideas and products, manage schedules and budgets, and write and assemble materials that achieve results. In all the work you do, you will be encouraged to think creatively and be supported by a team of practitioners who have your back.
This role will report to the Director, Public Affairs, as part of our growing Communications & Engagement team.
Key Responsibilities
Strategy Development
- Develop – and help others develop – strategic solutions that enable clients to achieve measurable business outcomes. This could include, but is not limited to, organizational communications strategies, project-specific communications and engagement strategies, government relations strategies, strategic plans, governance deliverables, complex policy papers, research reports, issues and crisis management plans, and detailed implementation plans.
Storytelling, Writing & Editing
- Through crisp, compelling writing, create and help package materials that achieve specific objectives. This could include, but is not limited to, briefing notes, annual reports, website and social media content, video scripts, news releases, key messages, Q&A documents, presentations, facilitator guides and other materials designed for a range of audiences.
- Work with specialists, including in-house and freelance graphic designers, web developers, photographers, videographers, researchers and others to help bring content to life.
- Edit and proof the work of others, contributing to quality delivery and alignment with Canadian Press (CP) Style guidelines.
Research & Consultation
- Conduct and synthesize secondary research to inform client strategies and decision-making, including materials reviews, jurisdictional and comparator research, environmental scans, stakeholder interviews and surveys.
- Help conduct primary research, including planning and facilitating stakeholder interviews, workshops, focus groups, consultation sessions and simple surveys, and synthesize findings into clear insights and recommendations.
Project Management & Logistics
- Lead the successful delivery of client projects by managing project plans, schedules, budgets, resources and cross-functional teams to ensure work is delivered on time, on budget and to the highest standard.
- Communicate effectively – in writing, verbally and via Teams and other tools – with project teams and clients.
Business Development & Culture Contribution
- Help write – and generally support the development of – proposals designed to win new business.
- Contribute to the firm’s vision and business plans, and help build a culture of learning, excellence, client-centricity, inclusive leadership and fun.
Qualifications
- Post-secondary education or training with specialization in communications, public relations, journalism, political science or a similar discipline
- Minimum of 7 years’ experience working in a fast-paced communications and/or professional services environment, or equivalent, undertaking significant strategic and tactical responsibilities
- Knowledge and experience across a range of communications and public affairs activities, including traditional and social media, stakeholder consultation, and issues and reputation management
- Experience working collaboratively with a range of specialists, including graphic designers, web developers, event planners, researchers and others, to bring communications programs and materials to life
- Exceptional critical thinking, written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent secondary research skills, including experience with the ethical use of AI
- Excellent attention to detail, project management and organizational skills
- Highly proficient in all MS Office programs (including Teams), Generative AI tools and general fluency/comfort with technology
- Fluency in both English and French (written and oral)
- Must have a valid driver’s licence
- Assets: general familiarity with the workings of the public service; professional services and/or agency experience; familiarity with design tools (e.g., Canva), SaaS-based project management tools (e.g., Asana) and time-tracking tools

Benefits & Compensation
The hiring salary range is $80,000 to $90,000, pending experience. The top end of the salary range is $105,000. Benefits include an incentive program (up to 10% of salary), four weeks’ vacation and other PTO, health and dental benefits (50% covered by the firm), GRRSP matched at 5% of salary, professional development, a biennial tech subsidy of $1,500, a monthly equipment allowance, flexibility and other fun perks. Our team works from home and connects in person a few times per year at beautifully curated events within the Maritimes, fully paid for by the firm.
